by pj on August 26, 2008, 10:02:43 AMI can't keep them all in shape so Gylling is for sale again. She is an awesome little mare. Anyone can ride. Had little children riding her around the ring going around cones etc by themselves. She is 16 yrs old but Icelandics tend to live a long time. Up to date on everything, good for farrier, vet ect. Excellent health. Does not need shoes. Very brave. Rides in front or back with no issues. If you know how to ride, you can easily get her into tolt. I am not actively trying to sell her but if the right person comes around I will. $5,000 or BO 38 Views | 0 Replies

by Technicolor on August 16, 2008, 08:27:22 PMHi all. With the sad state of the horse industry I havn't even had a nibble on my filly. I really want her gone by Sept 1st. She's a July 2007 TB/APHA tobiano cross that comes with APHA breeder certificate for full regular registration. SHould mature to about 16 hands and will be a nice hunt seat prospect for someone. Has had some handling (i.e. bathed, tied, clipped, stands for the farrier), does lunge a little bit but mostly has been out in the pasture to grow up. She's in pasture condition but is quite flashy with her white tail. Doesn't kick or bite and respects your space. Has been pastured alone off and on this summer. Would be a great project for someone out there. Located in Hudson, WI. I have her listed at http://pleasurehorse.equine.com/horses-for-sale/horse-ad-684337.aspx?search_id=3166d122-6c0c-42b6-a21a-41c7c2f30db5 . Heres the youtube link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBQaX9Dt8hA I have her listed for $400 but would take $250 if the right situation came along. Thanks for looking!! 236 Views | 12 Replies

by Tami on August 15, 2008, 11:49:17 AMAll,
Last night our site was the target for some spamming on the boards by someone anonymous on the internet who has a personal vendetta against one of our members. Not only is this inappropriate and childish, but personal attacks of that nature are not something that I stand for here. When you join up with the MHT community, you're like family. I don't care where you come from, what your background is, what you've done wrong, what you're being accused of - it doesn't matter here. This is a place to feel safe to talk about something we're all passionate about, horses. It's unfortunate when people find the need to cut each other down and publicly try to hurt someone emotionally. I have a zero-tolerance policy about that. These people caused one of our good members to delete her account (which I am working to restore for her) because they try so hard to hurt her.
So, the shoutbox has been removed for the time being. I have banned the users who posted here negatively (they registered just to post last night, they're not anyone we know) and I will continue to ban them as they show up. I'm asking for everyone's help in this matter. If you see a post that you consider to be a personal attack against a forum member, please press the "Report to a Moderator" button in the lower right hand side of the post. This sends right to my email (and I believe right to Ajinx too) so that we can moderate the posts quickly and get the issues resolved. I want to keep MHT a great community of people.
Thank you all for your help with this. 162 Views | 1 Reply

by Jean L. on August 15, 2008, 07:09:24 AMTHUNDER is a big bodied sound 15.2 hand (by the stick) 12 year old registered half-Arabian bright chestnut gelding. When his owners could no longer afford his board, he became mine. He is sired by a Saddlebred I used to own and out of a purebred Arabian HARMACHIS daughter. HARMACHIS offspring are known for their athleticism and tractable personalities.
He is a real sweetheart and appreciates attention. This gelding was started under saddle as a 5 year old and really has not had much done since then except to be groomed and loved by his former owners. We refreshed his groundwork this summer and put a couple short, calm indoor rides on him at a walk, which he took like a champ. He does NOT tend to be a spooky horse.
As you can see, this horse has some substance. He has a BIG trot with lots of drive. I had a dressage judge who looked at him as a project horse. He said that he would get very good scores at the walk and trot, but his canter would need some development. He told me this horse wants to be a driving horse with that big trot!
I had hoped to have more time to finish this horse's training, but I have so many youngsters coming up the ranks. We are also expanding our lesson program as well as continuing to train outside horses.
Understand that this is not a well broke horse, but a green broke, healthy horse with good ground manners and a wonderful disposition. The price does not reflect THUNDER's quality, but my desire to focus on specific projects. Jean L. rframbo@hutchtel.netwww.reflectionfarm.com 79 Views | 0 Replies

by Jean L. on August 13, 2008, 10:58:22 PMI aquired this 11 year old stallion last fall from his breeder, who is elderly and could no longer care for him. He is a magnificent animal. You will NOT hear me say this often, I think he has something to offer as a breeding stallion and should not be gelded. He is sired by one of the foundation stallions of the Pintabian breed, HOSAN'S LANCER and out of the most beautiful black purebred Arabian mare I have ever seen ( an exquisite TALI FAHL daughter). Before he came to live with us, he spent all of his last years in a box stall. We have helped him understand what ground manners are and he now enjoys his turnout time. He has been doing fine being turned out with a gelding. He has never bred a mare, but I do not see that as a problem for someone with experience handling a breeding stallion. His basic disposition is very good. I would love to cross him on some of my mares, but I am downsizing my breeding program and I think he would be of more use to someone who is more serious about raising Pintabians or high-percentage Arabian pintos in particular. I am more interested in finding this horse a suitable home than I am in the money. Jean L. rframbo@hutchtel.netwww.reflectionfarm.com138 Views | 5 Replies

by HobbNDelilah on August 10, 2008, 10:16:29 PMIt breaks my heart, but I'm just seeing what might be out there for my horse Hobb. I do not *have* to sell him, however if I find him the right home then I would. He is very content to be a pleasure horse, and I just don't have the time or the money for that right now. Hobb is a ten year old Arabian gelding. He has a fantastic personality and a huge heart. He has been shown at Class A shows, as well as WSCA and is consistently in the ribbons. He makes a great equitation horse - very smooth trot with a rolling canter. He has a natural carriage and has a very light mouth. I cannot express enough - he loves to show. He knows his job, and he enjoys it. The fun thing about him is that he can do just about anything - a year ago he was jumping 2'6 consistently, working on some dressage... this year we are running games and he actually seems to enjoy it quite it a bit. (I think he gets a pretty good kick out of running around with his head up in the air. Gee ) The great thing about him is that he is ready to show when ever. The girl that leases him decided to show him and literally we had a week to refresh, clip up and take the show. She placed third in pleasure and first in equ at a WSCA show. He also did leadline and ran in poles, key and barrels in the same day. He is a guy of many talents Hes got a fantastic personality and really is quite the character. He always is making goofy faces, trying to play with the cats (because he apparently is roughly the same size as them. I know the cats appreciate that!) or just being Hobb. He does great in regular huntseat classes at the Class A shows - keeps up with the big boys you know He hits that quarter line and just floats down the rail. I have also found though that he does very well in the sport horse classes. He has a nice sweepy trot and has a nice larger build that works well in sport horse as well. He is a big boy and does get noticed easily in classes. He sticks smack dab between 15.3 and 16H. Like I said before, I don't *have* to sell him, but I know that he loves to show. He is located in Northfield, MN. Hard to put a price on him, but i settled on $6500.. but a good, loving home is a must. http://s12.photobucket.com/albums/a241/KStrong86/Hobb/http://s12.photobucket.com/albums/a241/KStrong86/Hobb%20and%20Felix/258 Views | 8 Replies
